Blog and Blog Readers
This assignment really expanded my knowledge. I had no idea all of these resources existed. Yes, I heard of blogs, but when I was suppose to find my favorite blog reader, it opened up another chapter in my technology training. Out of Bloglovin, Feedly, Bloglines, NewsBlur, and Digg Reader, I choose Bloglovin as my favorite. It has many blogs on libraries, classroom teaching, and education blogs, not to mention my favorite past time hobby, gardening. This blog reader sends me emails when new blogs have been posted along with suggestions of blogs I may like. Librarians nationwide can get creative ideas, thought provoking lessons, great book reviews, and interesting points of view on different topics. Bloglovin is, in my opinion, eyecatchin' and teacher friendly.
Tumblr is a site I just assume teens used. My son uses it all the time to chat with others and share ideas. So now after creating an account and adding blogs to my dashboard, it's really just another blog reader where I can add my blog or read other blogs. Librarians can use blogs to share and find information specific to our grade level or profession. Librarians can also use it to teach students that everything on the internet isn't always true. Just because it's on a blog, doesn't mean its true.
One of the blogs I decided to follow is Conversation in Literacy. It has some really neat ideas when it comes to teaching those reading and language arts skills. Though the blog has links to buy some of the products, it still gives me ideas that I can create on my own or purchase it if I choose.

Another great blog to follow is the Library Makers. Here you will find neat arts and crafts ideas that is connected to literature. This blog will have my students anxious to come to the library.
They have the kids digging through sand to find fossils, after reading, "Digging Up Dinosaurs."
Neat, Huh?

Tumblr Blogs are just as interesting

The fourth blog I followed is Educational Technology Guy. This blog is right up my alley. It has information on free educational technology resources, ways to integrate technology into the classroom or library. This blog will help me with teaching and guiding my fellow educators on campus.

My fifth blog I followed is titled, Clutter Free Classroom. Its a blog that features products to help create a clean, organized classrrom that is bright, and kid friendly. Though this blog does encourgage you to buy some of the products, I still can get ideas to create on my own. I just needed that little spark of creativity to get going. Of course, I can also buy the product that she has and wait on shipping. But it soooo much fun to make it myself and put my spin on it.
